As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in the use of democratic processes in our congregations and society at large. Our faith tradition teaches us to uphold justice so that everyone can participate fully in society, recognizing that every individual and community has inherent worth and dignity.
Join us for some grounding and a brief overview of the issues. Then take some action in fellowship and community. Leave knowing that you did some good for our legislative republic and to advance us toward inclusive democracy.
Our Volunteer Teams have launched an ongoing series of monthly action hours. Participation will enable you to defend our democracy and champion a positive, inclusive vision for our republic. Over time, you will be invited to engage in various ways and on numerous issues within our full portfolio:
Our March topic, Work Permits, is thoroughly intersectional: it is an immigration justice matter with direct economic justice implications for many U.S. households; it links to healthy democracy and respect for congressional intent in programs; it connects to climate justice, where climate-forced displacement drives incentives for migration.
