Our democracy is in peril, impacting all of our social justice work. We need to mobilize our UU congregations to work to save our democracy.

The UUSJ Democracy Action Team is convening Democracy Leaders in an ongoing discussion series about how we can contribute to a pro-democracy movement capable of thwarting the autocratic movement emerging in the U.S.

This meeting series helps us join forces and work together towards a common goal.

On November 20, we will be conducting the meeting in three parts:

1. Open mic: thank you all for the work you have done; people are in different places - how are you feeling, and what are you thinking and doing?
2. Urgency of the situation (first 100 days):  we will have two speakers who will review what is currently happening in some states, and what to expect based on information from Project 2025 and other sources
3. What can we do? It is more important than ever that we keep our democracy teams together, active and helping congregations process and take action on what is coming. We will provide some important and useful steps that you can take, starting as soon as you are ready.

Our tactics and actions will certainly change, but the need to grow a strong, inclusive, pro-democracy movement must continue!
