Our democracy is in peril, impacting all of our social justice work and our way of life. We are mobilizing our UU congregations to join forces and work to save our democracy.

The UUSJ Democracy Action Team is convening Democracy Leaders in an ongoing discussion and action series about how we can contribute to a pro-democracy movement capable of thwarting the autocratic, authoritarian, movement emerging rapidly in the U.S.

Zachary Mueller will speak to UUSJ about the intersection of authoritarianism and anti-immigrant sentiment. Mueller, former Senior Research Director for America's Voice, is a political strategist whose work focuses on understanding and countering far-right nativist and authoritarian movements. He is an expert in tracking strategic racism.

• Zac's talk will share with us how authoritarianism and hate of immigrants are operating to feed the assault on our republic and American democracy. 
• This session will position you to recognize, understand, and challenge the rhetoric and narratives being used to assault our communities and democratic institutions. 

The remainder of our time, after our guest presentation, and his departure, will cover upcoming advocacy and mobilization opportunities.
