Policy and politics talk by Zoom
Zachary Mueller will speak to UUSJ about the intersection of authoritarianism and anti-immigrant sentiment.
Mueller is a political strategist and expert in tracking strategic racism. His work focuses on understanding and countering far-right nativist and authoritarian movements. He is formerly the Senior Research Director at America's Voice. In that work, he was recognized as a leading expert on anti-immigrant politics and disinformation by local and national press, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, and MSNBC.
Zac will showcase how anti-immigrant narratives have been a mainstay of the authoritarian impulse in the U.S., over time. He will elucidate the socio-political tensions and tendencies at play.
This session will position you to recognize, understand, and challenge the rhetoric and narratives being used to assault our immigrant communities and democratic institutions.
